Discovering I AM: The Soham Sushumna Technique
Early on our path, Kalyn and I were given a powerful process based on the breath and moving energy up and down the spine, significantly impacting her ability to connect with other dimensions and unseen friends. After we married, I would walk into the bedroom at least once a day and see her sitting cross-legged on the bed, diligently practicing this technique.
We gave it the nickname the Shushumna technique. The Sushumna is a vital energy channel in the human body that holds significant importance in various forms of yoga, such as Tantra, Kriya, and Kundalini. It is located along the spine, running from the base to the crown of the head, and passes through all seven chakras.
Running energy along the Sushumna channel is believed to facilitate the rising of Kundalini energy, leading to spiritual awakening and liberation. However, it is also a fantastic way to move deeper into I AM, your Divinity.

Discover Your ‘I AM’: The Key to a Life of Purpose, Passion, and Possibility
The article describes how Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj became Self-Realized in only three years by Self-Remembering I AM. It emphasizes the importance of connecting with the Divinity within, I AM.
India's ancient spiritual texts contain passages expressing the concept of I AM, such as the phrase Soham. The Soham mantra is an ancient practice that involves using the breath. It has been described in the Vedas and Bhagavad Gita, dating to around 500 years before Christ.
In this issue, I will be describing a version of the Shushumna process using the Soham mantra you can use to connect with I AM.
Here is the process:
Preparation: Sit in a comfortable meditation posture, ensuring the spine is erect. Adjust the body for balance and stillness.
Breath Awareness: Focus on slow, rhythmic breathing, moving awareness along the spine from the root chakra at the base of the spine to the crown chakra at the top of your head and back.
Visualization of The Sushumna: Visualize the Sushumna as a luminous tube within the spinal cord. Intensify awareness of this pathway.
Breathing Inside The Sushumna: Resume deep breathing, feeling the breath moving inside the Sushumna. Maintain awareness of this movement.
Awareness of Prana: Become aware of the prana (vital energy) moving with the breath in the spinal passage, experienced as light, heat, or energy sensations.
Piercing the Chakras: Visualize the chakras as points of light within the Sushumna and feel the prana piercing each chakra in turn as the breath moves.
Awareness of Soham: Focus on the sound of the breath, experiencing the Soham mantra. Silently say So to yourself on the in-breath and Ham on the out-breath. Continue the Soham (I AM) mantra with the breath for 20 minutes.
Ending the Practice: Gradually withdraw awareness from the mantra and become aware of the natural breath, physical body, and surroundings. Spend a few minutes mindfully aware of your energy.
Enjoy these processes. The more you do the processes, the more quickly you sense I AM's presence. It is not uncommon to have increased intuition, enhanced dreams, and/or out-of-body experiences when tapping into I AM.
